Description

Public Radio Tulsa provides trusted, in-depth news, unmatched storytelling, and unforgettable music across northeast Oklahoma.

Founded in 1947 thanks to a gift from oilman William Grove Skelly, KWGS 89.5 FM is Tulsa’s NPR member station, where you hear award-winning newsmagazines Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and so much more. KWTU 88.7 FM brings the Tulsa area 24/7 classical music, including rebroadcasts of Tulsa Symphony Orchestra Classics concerts.

Together, KWGS and KWTU serve 70,000 radio listeners each week, and many more through our digital platforms. The University of Tulsa holds the licenses for KWGS and KWTU, and our offices and studios are found on TU’s beautiful campus.

Why give?

When you listen, you’ll hear “...a listener-supported service of The University of Tulsa” at the top of every hour. This is our business model: journalistic integrity and independence through primary funding from the community we serve. Public Radio Tulsa answers to our listeners; not to shareholders, advertisers, or the government.

Supporting Public Radio Tulsa has never been more important. Local news reporting is in crisis across the country as newspapers cease publication, and fewer and fewer communities have the gift of a full-time classical music station. Your gift makes possible the rigorous journalism, civil conversation, and smart entertainment heard every day on Public Radio Tulsa!
